Lost Skies Announced
In Lost Skies, players team up to explore a vast world made up of floating islands. The skies are full of opportunities to build customized sky-ships, brave ferocious storms, battle monsters and solve the mysteries of ancient civilizations, forgotten technologies and the story of the shattered world.
This is a wonderful project and I am lucky enough to be managing all the audio content including the design of the ambitious soundscape.

INDUSTRIEMUSIK TEIL 1-3
The Industriemusik series is inspired by my early influences like Front 242 and Ministry. I always preferred the more dance orientated & sampled type of industrial music, although still dark and aggressive.
For these sets I have mixed the old and new together to form something unique and awesome to listen to (especially in your car on a journey). It basically sounds like a club scene from Robocop or Basic Instinct….very dark and very sleazy.
New Industrial legends are emerging such as the Swedish artist Rein and also SIERRA. These artists are breathing life into a genre that sounds as fresh today as it always did back in the early 80’s

ASTRO AQUA KITTY RELEASED FOR NINTENDO SWITCH
Electric Cafe is back with collaborator Cody Carpenter to bring you 15 tracks of pulsating synthwave!
The soundtrack to Tikipod's new aqua adventure uses classic synths and samples from the Amiga 500 and SNES, blending them with vibrant Juno and DX7 textures to create something special and unique.
Preludes have been added to this version, creating an album that feels like an epic journey, adventuring through explosive action cues and dreamy ballads but edging ever closer to the final confrontation with the evil Corruptor.
The fate of the kitty crew is in your hands, win at all costs.....but if you lose at least you will go down in style!

PIXELATED AUDIO PODCAST
I was honoured to be the featured composer on the latest Pixelated Audio podcast. Thank you to Bryan and Gene for having me, these guys really know their video game music and it was a pleasure to be able to talk about a variety of topics including my latest projects Aqua Kitty 2, Neopolis & Double Dragon for Amiga.
The show primarily focuses on the original Aqua Kitty soundtrack, so we dissect the approach, style and techniques used to create the music.

AQUA KITTY SEQUEL
The guys at Tikipod have been coding away on a sequel to their indie hit “Aqua Kitty” and I have once again teamed up to provide the music and sound effects. They are targeting an Autumn 2020 release.
In addition I was recently guest on the Pixelated Audio Podcast where they were showcasing music from the first game along with tracks from the sequel and my Double Dragon port :)
That should be going live in a few weeks!

DOUBLE DRAGON AMIGA PORT
My dad passed away recently and while reminiscing I was reminded that the best present he ever got me and my brothers for Christmas was the Amiga 500 Batman Pack. This is a very special memory, waking up and playing Xenon 2, Super Hang-On, Altered Beast and Batman. Coming from a Commodore 64 the visuals and audio were simply mind blowing!
I still have that Amiga, so I dusted it down, booted it up and have been playing through some old favourites with my son, most notably Pang!
It also got me thinking about really bad ports - one of them being the dreadful Double Dragon port.
So I thought, hey I know how to code, I can write music and I can also grab all the aracde artwork - so why not give it a go.
Having advertised the idea to a friend, he also was excited about the idea so we have turned this into a one day a week social/lockdown thing where we chat about Amiga code and try our best to deliver a good port of Double Dragon.

NEW ALBUM SHADOW SPIRITS VOL. 1 NOW AVAILABLE ON SCARLET MOON RECORDS
Shadow Spirits is an explosive electronic/chiptune soundtrack experience by Cody Carpenter and Mark Day. Shadow Spirits Vol. 1 features all original music that is heavily inspired by classic 8- and 16-bit RPGs by the likes of Nobuo Uematsu and Hiroki Kikuta, weaving its own musical tale through pumping battle tracks, jovial town themes, and heart-rending emotional cues that follow a young samurai's journey.
Shadow Spirits was originally planned as a four-track EP, with Cody writing the original versions using the NES chipset. Mark took those tracks and re-arranged them and composed new themes using the Commodore SID chip and an added Juno 106 for additional warmth. The result is Shadow Spirits Vol. 1.

Cody is the son of legendary film director John Carpenter and a superb composer in his own right. He recently helped to compose the sublime "Lost Themes I & II" with his dad. Mark & Cody will be collaborating on some very exciting projects in the near future. In the meantime we have produced some demos together that sound pretty amazing!

ELECTRIC CAFE MUSIC TO SOUNDTRACK THE CATWALK AT THE LONDON GAMES FESTIVAL
Choice cuts from the Aqua Kitty Soundtrack will be used this weekend as part of the Game Character Parade at the London Games Festival.
The final Saturday of LGF will see hundreds of games characters take to the streets of London in the very special Games Festival Character Parade. Welcoming both video games-inspired cosplayers and official mascots and characters, this first-of-its-kind games event will see iconic interactive entertainment heroes in even more iconic London locations.

NEOPOLIS ANNOUNCED FOR PS4 & STEAM
Neopolis is a Cyberpunk RTS, in an anime influenced style and a very non-traditional approach to strategy gameplay. We took inspiration from some fun sources: The crazy and campy outfits of old hip hop crews, the gangs in the movie “The Warriors” and of course cyberpunk classics like Akira, Ghost in the Shell, and Blade Runner.
The soundtrack will be composed by Electric Cafe.
